I have an old Canon Bubble Jet printer (12 years). I just replaced the cartridge and within a few pages, it started leaving a blank line through my text (like a white crossout), like it did before. Is this likely something I can clean myself(and how), get serviced (and where would they do that), or is it not fixable?

Try folding some paper towels and wetting them with warm water. Then dab the individual ink cartridges on the paper towel for a couple minutes. Make sure to place a protective cover beneath the towel or you might stain the table. It worked for my old Canon BJC 5000.

The easy fix is getting a laser printer...a mono is just around $70 --- got rid of my canon i360 bubble jet years ago (the heads wore out).

Your printer should have a cleaning setting you can click on or by pushing a button on it's display panel, just clean the cartridge a couple of times, should work fine.

If it was doing it before, it could be the cable to the print cart. or the printer electronics itself. Sometimes the cable can be unplugged and reseated. Otherwise, I would suggest replacing the printer rather than the cost of repairing.

it just probably need to be realigned, try taking the catrigage out and putting it back in, it usually will propmt you to realign you printer. I dont know a/b cleaning it b/c cleaning a cartiage can damage it. But thats the best suggestion i've got.

all you have to do is clean the printer head- not the cartrage, you have to take it out and find where the printer contacts the paper and clean it w/ some alcohol and a cloth
