I get tons of junk mail everyday.. Capital One is probably the worst offender.. They send out 2 everyday harassing me to sign up for their credit card.. They even print my name and address on their form and put in a magnet card inside so that I have to open the envelope before shredding them.. how do I make them stop??

Opt out. That will keep the credit bureaus from selling your information. And your junk mail will drop to little or none.

It will take a little while for opting out to take effect, so in the mean time, do as lillbird suggested and mail them back their envelope. Stick everything in it (that doesn't have your name or other sensitive info on it) Even stick in the advertisements from the newspapers. Anything and everything, pack those return envelopes to where you can barely close them. lol.

I've included the link for opting out. You can opt out for a year, for 5 years or for life.

Wisely allows you to opt out of credit card junk mail for free. Within 12 weeks, you will stop receiving credit card mailers.

Here's how it works:
1. Go to https://wise.ly/optout
2. Fill out the form (Wisely doesn't require your SSN like other sites)
3. Wisely submits the form to the company that manages opt outs.

I also called the number listed on the application and asked to be removed from their mailing lists.

Get a different E-Mail Address and give it to all your friends, family, etc. Then use one for when you sign up for stuff (Junk Mail) and use the other for personal stuff. Glad I could help.

Take the postage paid by addressee envelope inside of it and duct tape it to a brick and mail it back.

open it up, place the whole thing in the pre-paid envelope they send you and return it to them. They end up paying for you to send their trash back. Also call their 800 number and demand to be taken off their list.
