Star Trek needs fresh ideas... and this would be awesome I think because they can bring back characters we love plus focus on new ones... not to mention we can get more into the alt. universe world...

Cool, would this be to follow up on that old classic episode where Kirk falls into an alternate universe and somehow the alternate Spock (with the beard) ends up helping him, showing that underneath everything Spock was really a nice person?

I don't think they will be making a series anytime soon. They need to let it cool off. If they do make a series it needs to go on a cable channel like SciFi or something instead of a network. That was the main thing wrong with Enterprise.

I think the dark universe is interesting but it wouldn't be a good concept for an entire series to have the characters we most identify with (humans) be the bad guys. They should move into the future another couple of hundred years and do a new Enterprise (NCC-1701Z?). They could think up some cool new way to get around the galaxy quicker so they could explore and meet new species. The wormhole was a good idea for meeting new species on DS9 but then they got sidetracked by the interminably boring war with the Dominion and wrecked it.

The next movie is going to deal with Kirk, Spock and McCoy in their academy days........it'll be interesting who they get to play them.

I think the TV series' need to be off the air for awhile to generate more "need", but I like your idea about the alternative universe trek....

I like the idea, especially since the "time line" changed when LaForge and Riker joined Zephram Cochrane on the inaugural flight of the first warp ship back in 2063, (whereas before, it was just Cochrane flying the ship by himself).

As much as I'd love to see it happen i don't think there will be another series, they didn't even finish Enterprise. I did enjoy the 'darkly' episodes and the ones in DS9 where they went there but not sure there's enough life in it for a whole series....

I think they should have one after and in the future going out and seekiing new life again. We need that positive outlook and sense of awe and wonder again. And a fresh crew to do it with.

I think it would work. A lot of people like the positive outlook they have for our universe.
