During the first Ironman Match. Bret Hart and Shawn Michles fought. It was Bret's last match. The deal was the matchwas supposed to end in a draw sod Bret counl retire as the Champ. At the end the match was tied at 0. Vince came out and said their had to be a winner. Bret turned a round and got Supper Kick and pinned. He said he didnt kick out for the fans because he was the "bad guy" at the time.

It was Survivor Seris 1997.Bret Hart had signed with WCW and his last match was that night.Bret didnt want to lose the belt in canada so he wanted to wait till the next night on RAW and he forfeit the title but vince worked it out with earl hebner(the ref) and shawn Michaels to screw bret out of the title at survivor seris.Shawn had Bret in the sharpshooter and as soon as he put it on Bret Vince called for the bell.So shawn got the title bret got screwed and he hit mcmahon backstage

Vince was seriously worried that if he let Bret win in Montreal,he would show up at Nitro on the Monday with the WWF belt.This was at the height of the Monday night wars and he couldn't afford to let that happen.So,he arranged the screwjob with HBK and Hebner and Bret lost the belt in his home town.
In hindsight,it was great business by Vince and part of me believes it was the greatest 'work' ever put together in wrestling.
