during day time pigeons drink at the pool and there are bird droppings all over the sides and feathers in the water. At night frogs and toads swim around and some times lay eggs in the pool. Its pretty disgusting to swim in the water and i have drained my pool even though it is summers here. Any suggestions will be very welcome....

My neighbor put rubber snakes around the pool as a deterrant. Seems to work ok.

Here's some tips I found and a couple of links w/ some good ideas. You'll get it figured out. Worst case you could get a cat...

Cut all the bushes and overhanging limbs away from the house.

Keep as many outside lights as possible off. The lights draw in the frog's food (bugs).

Spray a weak solution of Permethrin on the shrubbery and nearby trees. This kills the small insects and will repel (not kill) the frogs.

If you think THIS bis disgusting, then take some of your (or anybody's) pool water and put it under a 500X microscope.
You will never swim again....!
But if you can't stand for animals doing what is natural to them, then you have to invest in a pool cover on a roll with motor.
