Harry potter because it is more magical & mysterious & humorous at the same time... Also it has cute girls & the story goes on....over 7 books!!!!! Lord of the Rings is also good but lacks certain punch!!

Lord Of The Rings by far is better than Harry Potter because it focuses on one event and is more fantasy whereas Harry Potter is more fiction. I like books and series where there is one common story line throughout the whole thing like the Lord Of The Rings and Frodo destroying the One Ring to save the Shire. Harry Potter focuses on what happens to Harry at Hogwart's and I was never really interested in Harry Potter anyway. Sure adults like it, but the way I feel about the two is that the Harry Potter series is for grade school and junior high students and Lord Of The Rings is for high school and college students and adults. Harry Potter is a story that doesn't take a lot of concentration to understand, even though there are many different story lines and many details, whereas the Lord Of The Rings is a more complex storyline and something I like better.

LOTR because it deals with the fate of an entire world, which rests on the smallest of objects, carried by the most outlandish and unexpected creature of all and has so many more ties into the real world than Harry Potter. Plus the acting in the lotr trilogy was eighty billion times better than that of h.p. and so were the special effects, not to mention lotr movies didn't stray to far and mess with what happened in the books the way harry potter did, especially the fourth harry potter (where were all the creatures and dangers in the maze?! oh, no! watch out for the bushes!!)

They're both great but I like Harry Potter more because Lord of the Rings is more complicated.

I am a Harry Potter Fan...I would have to say Harry Potter because I like the books.

Well I'm 33 and LOVE Harry Potter.
I like LOTR
But Harry Potter is the best too me. The story line. He doesn't have a mom or dad. In the 1st movie he lived under the stairs. You kinda felt sorry for him. He has the same friends thur out the years.There are tons of reason. The movies and books relax me. Just like it better.
