It may be "normal", but that doesn't mean you can't do anything about it. I used to have a very heavy flow for twice as long as usual, so the doctor prescribed hormones (birth control pills). Another way is to try non-prescription hormones: the plant estrogens "Soy Isoflavones" work the same way and are sold anywhere they have supplements. But use a very small dosage at first, like cut the 40 mg tablets in half once a day. It will take a few months to see how much your body will adjust to. These are inexpensive at Target or WalMart.

In 'normal' periods, there is a day of light flow, two to three days of heavier flow and then it starts to drift off until it discontinues. If it is regularly like this, then there should be no problem. If it is a change for you, you may need to speak to a physician; maybe, medications, lifestyle and the amount of exercise one gets can change the nature of that cycle.

I use to do the same thing for a few years as long as there isn't a real bad oder you should be fine - but if you are really concerned go and get a second opinion from another doctor. Can't hurt to check and see. Good luck.

Oh Yeah! Trust me, it's normal. I've been a heavy flower for about 17 years now. Irregular too. The two seem to go together and also to be hereditary.

How long has it been this way? Has anything changed in your life?
Everyone is different. Hormone levels vary in a womans body all month long. If this is normal for you, I wouldn't worry about it. All women are different.

Yuck! No, thats not normal, girl. You should get checked. No offence or anything but you could have like a yeast infection or V.D. or something. Get checked soon.
