Not a chance. The person I say whould have an honest chance is Barrack Obama but I think he needs a little more experience. His charisma is great, the problem is his party has not reached consensus on any core issues.

A liberal Democrat will have a hard time getting elected as well would a far-right conservative. Most people in this country seem to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. When you take that into consideration, the candidate with the most chance is a very charismatic moderate. Which in my opinion would be Gulliani for the GOP and Obama for the DEMS.

Not with the way the electorate is in the South. That's what pretty much doomed Kerry's chances in 2004, because he didn't even try to win the South from George Bush. Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia were definitely possibilities for the Democrats in 2004, but they did little to no advertising in these states and subsequently lost them.

No surprise then that the last two Democratic presidents to be elected were moderate Southern governors. Liberalism has been pretty much marginalized to the Northeast and West Coast for the most part.

The only Democrat, Liberal or not, who had half a chance was Hillary Clinton. The wacko left will not vote for her in the primaries and the days when a wild-card candidate could be nominated at the Democratic National Convention are long gone. Maybe in 2048 after the party has wondered in the wilderness for forty years.
