How do you think the interviewer would like to see you five years from now, having worked and presumably been successful at the company where you are interviewing? Based on what you know about the job you're applying for, what are the expected accomplishments that you would have had in that five years time? What's valued in the job? Even if its a job that has no advancement potential (doubtful) then you could say something about having become an integral member of the team/dept/company due to your consistency, reliability and ability to anticipate problems and deal with them/or ensure that problems do not come up, etc. etc.

At any rate, its a useful exercise for you to do for yourself: have a vision of where you'd like to be in 5 years. It will help clarify a sense of your own self-worth, which will come through in the interview. Good luck!

I think it depends what kind of job you're interviewing for. Sometimes it's good to project that you might want a long-term job. Mostly I think it's best to be honest with a kind of twist towards good work ethic. Like, I'm not sure where exactly I'll be but I see myself hopefully having a steady job etc. Try to relate it back to the position you're interviewing for somehow.
