It would take a long time for the other countriess to adopt afl - and what would it be called? It would be too confusing! But I think it would be nice - if it was made international - that everyone would remember Australia invented it, It would bring extra publicity!

It already is. They hold an International cup which was won by New Zealand last year. Australia don't compete, as it is meant to encourage development, but these countries do:
Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Samoa, South Africa, Spain and USA.

I'm happy with it as it is, with all the confusion other countries have about what afl truelly entails, it would be a long time before we saw that happening..

one could say the same thing about american football.. however americans are too strong, and would be pretty one-sided who would win. similarly can be said about afl... aussies are too strong here.

It's growing in the U.S., slowly, but it's growing. We have to somehow convince ESPN to start airing it and introduce kids to the sport, get them hooked early.
