i love his music,i went through highschool listening to his songs.and this band is one of the best of the 80s no doubt.so i was just curious what became of him?

Uh, excuse me Mr Bob, but yes I do know the difference!!! Any true Steve Perry fan would know the difference. Don't compare Steve Perry's voice to the new guy or any other guy. His is unique, as far as I'm concerned.
