My daughter started shaving about age 9-10. She began developing and like yours the hair was blonde but noticeable. I had to laugh because like all of us she couldn't wait for that right of passage only to wonder why later....LOL.

I am 13 and my mother did not let me shave my legs until I graduated 5th grade. All little girls have hairy legs and unless people are teasing her, don't let her shave for another year. I only wore pants in 5th grade because I was ashamed of my legs, even on really hot days. When I started shaving at 11, I cut myself a lot, so be careful.

I am not a mother yet, but I remember starting gym in 6th grade and I hadn't begun shaving yet. I was very embarassed because it seemed that I was the only one who didn't. Shaving is a relatively minor part of growing up and it should not add to the other trials pre-teens are going through. It would probably be best to let her start when she feels she needs to. Talk to her openly and let her make the decision.

I think she can get away without shaving her leg hair for the time being. As long as she's in elementary school it's not that big a deal. Teach her how to shave right before she starts middle school...maybe the summer before.

Well I don't think any young woman should have to live with hairy legs. She might get teased in school, so I'd let her. It's not a very big deal, it's not liek shaving your legs in inappropriate.

My mother allowed me to use Nair when I was in fifth grade. I wasn't allowed to use a razor until 8th grade.
That wayI was not trying to use a razor and cutting myself.
So, perhaps the razorless products until she is older?
