Not all tracks run counter clockwise. Barbagallo Raceway in Perth Western Australia runs clockwise. Aswell as Queensland Raceway in Australia. Silverstone runs clockwise. Brands Hatch runs clockwise. There just a few. Want to know more just ask.

Most road courses run clockwise, with a few exceptions. On the Formula One circuit, three tracks, Interlagos, Sao Paulo, Brazil., Imola, Italy and Istanbul, Turkey., run counter clockwise.
Interestingly, the cars run counter clockwise on the oval at Indianapolis, however, the road course used for the U.S. Formula One Grand Prix, runs clockwise.
There is one real anomaly and I don't have an explanation for it; when the Japanese Grand Prix was held at the Mt Fuji circuit, the F1 cars ran in one direction, but, when the Indy cars raced there, they went the opposite way around the track.

I believe to protect the driver is valid.

However, how do you explain the counter clockwise direction of horse racing, running races, bike racing, the direction of the game pieses in monopoly?

It is so the drivers are as far away from the wall as they can be. So when they hit the wall the driver isn't the first thing that hits. The passenger side of the car absorbs some the impact so they don't get injured as badly.
