A good way to get a couple good meals out of one steak is to order one "rare" in a restaurant. That is because the broiler cook will put all of the steaks on at the same time and they will use small thin ones for well done orders and large thick ones for the rare orders. Then you can either send it back for just a little more time on the flame or load up on bread and salad, take the steak home and cook it up the next day to med rare - med - well done.

Medium and sometimes rare. But once in awhile well done taste good depending on how it is cooked. Not very often though. I think medium it the best with some A1. What else is good is A1 and some Heinz 57. Put a little of each on the meat and Yum.

It depends on the quality of the meat. Generally medium-rare is what I want on a good steak. Medium is usually ok too. Never rare or well-done.
On a burger with good meat, I go for medium-well.

Medium rare, so you don't feel like a lion, but it isn't burnt to a crisp. Well done is like eating cigarette butts.
