Is there a point in this question? Out of the 32 teams in the World Cup, 16 have gone out early. What does that show about those teams? They are top level football teams who have not been able to progress further in the tournament... thats all. They will try again the next time.
By the time the tournament ends, there will only be one winner. 31 teams would have lost. Is there a point in asking such a question at all? Soccer fans from around the world love the game for what it is... the beautiful game. While national pride is part and parcel of the drama of the World Cup, a true fan will always continue to watch the Cup right to the end simply for the love of the game.
I believe that if there was any political implication in that question, it should be immediately sidelined. Sport should be seen for what it is... its entertainment, its fun and it keeps us sane.

It shows that having a good coach is necessary to success in World Cup and World Cup is not a place to make big and stupid mistakes like what Iran's players did.(they goal keeper can't correctly kick the ball.)

It shows that Iran (like the US) is not one of the world's leading soccer countries. That's no disgrace, since only seven countries have every won the World Cup.
Every 4 years, one country wins, making all the rest losers. I don't think that's a particular disgrace to anyone. If you are on your country's national team, that means you are pretty darned good.

That their nation's soccer program is lacking in soccer super-ness. But then, the US team didn't do so hot, either...
