Why are pretty girls doing porno?

Let's look at this from the actresses perspective. She probably can find a decent husband and if she gains skill she could get a decent job.Why should she exploit herself for less than decent pay? Let's not consider what the audience wants to see.

A lot of the answers claim it's the girls choice and it pleasures her. Is it possible for a woman to like getting roughed up and getting screwed by 5 men in every nook and cranny in her body?

If it's so, Why is she doing this?

I mean what was the initial experience that would make this pretty girl want to get involve with this lifestylel

From the actresses perspective: A large majority of people in the porn industry are victims of child sexual abuse. Although it may seam that they are doing this to have fun while making money, it's actually done for a very different reason.

Women (and men) who exploit themselves like this are doing what we (those of us in Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and treatment) call "Acting out." Victims of child sexual abuse often act out sexually in unhealthy ways in order to feel "in control." It is more about covering pain than it is about pleasure, a form of what psychology calls a "Maladaptive Coping Response."

well, i think a lot of these girls don't WANT a decent husband... they want to live the wild and crazy lifestyle sleeping around with their little pack of tramps. Besides, most "decent" men want a woman who's not only pretty, but decent in her own right. I have a good high-pay, high-prestige job... you think I'd marry some skank because she's hot?! No way! So if they have sleazy personalities, and they're not willing or able to change that, then they need to lead sleazy lifestyles and hitch up with sleazy men who may decide to put them to work, on film or in the streets.

Plus, a lot fo these girls are supporting drug habits. So they will do whatever it takes to make a quick buck. And porn pays better than prostitution (by the hour, anyways) and it's a lot safer.

Just because a girl looks good does not make her beautiful. And any girl who says they can have any man they want is in denial of the fact that true and intelligent men see through that.

So I disagree with the premise that these girls could get a husband and a job simply because they look good on camera. Many of them are far more broken than any camcorder can capture...

and others actually sincerely like what they do and couldn't imagine doing any other line of work! In those cases, it's like asking a farmer why he never became a business executive... maybe he just doesn't want to. Maybe to some girls, working a 9 to 5 and coming home to Ward Cleaver and the Boys is a turn-off, but going into the studio and getting pounded by a troop of hard-bodied men on film is the life!

a lot of porn stars are actually Hollywood hopefuls that come out but don't find real acting jobs. They've sold everything to get to L.A. so they can't just go home.
The pay is better than working in restaurants, so a lot of them figure they'll just work once or twice in porno before landing a better job.
of course, no self-respecting studio in Hollywood would ever hire a porn star (the negative publicity could kill an actor/actress's career and take the studio with it) so a lot of them find themselves doing more and more movies until it becomes their career.

Most women in the porn industry do it because they enjoy it. Why should a woman get married for money if she has a job she likes and makes a lot of money at? I don't see it as exploiting herself or anything like that. I think it IS a decent job.

i do not believe for a second that most women doing porn enjoy it. ok, for many its a choice and for a select few they might enjoy it, but the majority do it hoping for money, many are traffikked women forced into porn and prostitution, and many do it because they may feel useless for anything else. women are very defined by their sexuality and appearance these days, and many might see themselves simply as a sex object - if they dont think theyre clever etc. also, it can be sold as being a glamorous lifestyle but ends up as anything but. many young girls are increasingly defining being a page three girl as a good aspiration - no wonder with the number of crazy mofo's they see/read about conjstantly on shitty tv and in shitty magazines, however a lot of these girls end up in cheap, disgusting, exploitative porn, not as famous 'glamour models'. as somebody else also pointed out, many porn stars and prostitutes (im not saying theyre the same thing, although sometimes the boundary can blur) have been abused when they were children.
therefore....im disagreeing with most other people. people do not choose porn as a positive lifestyle choice.

Just as with any other choice made in life not everyone will agree. Maybe you see porn as disgusting and exploitative. Maybe someone such as Jenna Jameson sees it as the best thing that every happened to her. As with any profession there are those that are paid well and those that are used and discarded. If people are forced into porn it is a tragedy but there are many willing participants to supply the porn industry.

And besides...who wants to watch ugly people do porn.

Pretty girls make more money in porno than less pretty ones. "Beauty" creates situations and attitudes for a person that don't exist for "average" or "ugly" people. Studies have shown that women judged to be more attractive tend to be less honest than other women, although they are perceived to be more honest even when blatantly lying. If that is true, their moral systems are possibly skewed by the image they present to the world.

Who can say they like it? Which one of you is a porn star and knows one should only answer that. Besdies its commonly accepted that approxiamtley 70% of the females in the porn industry have been raped, molested by their father or father figure or sexually assaulted on many occasions in their life time. This of course has made them very inferior to the socitey "norm" which their isnt one, but our so called "norm" is transited itself to an "abnorm" and that abnorm is becoming the new norm--They just missed it thats all. We want them right their on that camera with guns to their head acting very fictiously about their "pleasure" so we can have some ourselves. Its also commonly accepted that the early porn industry was deluded with the Mafia and most of the women were forced against their will to participate and partake in these films to save their lives. Gosh we are such wonderful people for purchasing this material. Not to mention that one of the biggest revenues in this contry is pornography! A contry foundationlized on pornographic material. Arnt you proud to be an American? Anways, you call these women beautiful and you say it correctly, they are people that have a chance. Most of them are so reduced to a debased mind set they could never imagine leaving, but at the same time they still value a life with beatiful children and a wonderful husband, with a nice house to be able to eat a tasteful thanksgiving meal with the family at, but "SNAP" back to reality. Who would except me now? Although they say Im beautiful they dont accept me and they'll never let me leave. There is no forgivness in the world and understanding and I realize that honesty and faithfulness is pillars to a good relationship, but if I am honest to one man about my past will he accept me--and what have we taught them by making them out to be what they are. Of course not they have nothing, but to use that money, just as an other actress does to adorn herself a make herself look fradulent for the purpose of attraction and a bit more money for this life style gives at least a very minuet sense of purpose. Trust me when I say this: Most of these women are not happy, not doing this for the right reasons, and our seriously hurt and effected by emotional disorders from their past in which they have no healing for. Just as any other person in this country is catergorized by their class (Upper, Middle, and lower) so they are in status which is nothing more than a whorish porn star who will never be anything more because the society has trained her to believe such.

ffirst of all they make a lot of money.I used to be in the industry and the girls make way more than we guys do.Second most of them just love the sex and a lot of them have MAJOR issues due to being molested.I learned the hard way not to date any of the girls I worked with.And a lot of them start out doing porn to pay the bills while they try to get into legit filmwork.The only one I know of who crossed over was tracy lords with only moderate success.
