OK, guys.... The answer is that pornography is a business, licensed by the state and they pay taxes.... It follows the film industry guidelines making it legal.....
Prostitution is not permitted except in 16 counties in Nevada where it is a licensed business just like any other retail store. I am not joking here..
In Clark County Nevada, Las Vegas, prostitution is illegal therefore you can't get a business license and you don't pay taxes.
It is economics people......
Now, the difference between porno and hookers.... Not much except as a general rule, the porn stars are a little better groomed and cared for. They make the producer's very rich so they are treated much better than the hookers on the street.
Porn stars also get W-4 forms at the end of year to pay taxes on their earnings just like anyone else. Hookers, no....

There is a slight difference.
A prostitute is paid by someone to (generally) have sex or do sexual acts with that person.
Porn stars are paid by someone to have sex with someone else, or to masturbate. That other person is paid as well, so it really couldn't be considered prostitution.
I can see how you could consider it prostitution, but where the money is coming from changes things around. And also, prostitution is someone paying for pleasure. Porn stars are paid to have sex that is recorded. Porn movie makers sell this to consumers to give pleasure. It just isn't the same thing.

Because pornography as a form of art and expression for adults is not the business of either the executive or judicary to concern itself with unless it involves the exploitation of children.
president Nixons blue ribbon report on pornography was such a best seller fights broke out at the Government printing office.

Porn does not involve or require physical contact with another person - while prostitution is a sex act between two consenting adults. in exchange for money or special favors. Having and using porn is a private matter by one individual - Prostitution involves two or more people and can result in STD.

They have a different objective, and pornography requires a lot of paper work and everyone must be checked for STD's and other thigns that keep everyone involved safe.

That is an escellent point that I totally agree with. The reason is by putting it into media form then it becomes freedom of speech and is protected under the constitution. Pretty sick to me.

Same reason why looking at a picture of a bank robbery is not the same as walking in the bank and committing a bank robbery.
