Is it still being practiced? well you are a white boy in deed!
Ebonics is not only spoken on a day to day basis by blacks and whites and whoever can master the lingo!

but actually taught as a "class" in some schools. while I don't personally agree with Ebonics as a teaching or class, it is a very natural linguistic method of communication.

while I can't do all the pronunciations, I can tell you that it does not all consist of nizzle, wizzle and fizzle. it is a very defined art of cultural and street talk.

My personal feelings on Ebonics is that it is simply a slang communication that few in the professional world would understand. hence the teaching of it is moot to the common students for life purposes. if you are of Afro/African American decent (and I have my feelings of that as well ) then you may wish to connect to that part of the culture.

But otherwise it belittles the teachings of proper English for all common purposes of communications.

I think Ebonics is no longer "hot" according to Paris Hilton. It's all about Spanglish now, ese. Hehe.
