It may be a good place to meet someone who can teach proper English grammar to you, but I do not know.

Many of the people who use Yahoo Answers are themselves not native speakers of the English language, and are making a great effort to translate their questions into our own language. Of those who are native English speakers, there are a number of children who use this website and who are still learning the particulars of the language.

My suggestion would be to find someone on here who seems to have good English -- and ideally, who also knows your native language -- and ask them to begin exchanging letters by email. This would give you the opportunity to practice communication in that language.

No. The people that post content here wouldn't know proper spelling and grammar if it bit them on the a$$.

I recommend you rent American movies on DVD, and play them on a DVD player in the language you speak with English subtitles, or vice-versa. Rent movies from the current era, so you can have an idea of the things people say. Keep in mind that movie-scripts are written to be interesting, and actual conversation is usually interrupted with hesitations, pauses, stammering, etc. Most people don't know what they are going to say until they open their mouths and start talking, whereas scripts take quite a while to prepare.

Good luck!

No, it's a good place to learn bad English, and a bad place to learn good English.

God no! No internet forum or anything similar is a good place to learn English if you're serious about it. There are so many spelling and grammar problems it makes me want to cry (but I don't).

I would love to say yes, because it should be like normal conversation. However, it's often a specific internet lingo that oftentimes makes no sense. No, it's not a good place to learn English.

Not for learning but you can practice it here, not a perfect English, but you can learn slang and when grammar is not proper, there's always someone willing to correct it.
