The closest coastal beach is at Hampstead. Hammocks beach S.P. is nice. Closest inland beach may be at Goose Creek S.P. near Washington. Most popular is probably Myrtle beach in South Carolina. If I were in Raleigh and just wanted a beach and not necessarily the ocean, I would go to Falls Lake S.R.A. or Jordan Lake S.R.A. depending on which part of the city I was leaving from.

Wilmington. Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, Nags Head Wrightsville Beach. But Carolina beach is the absolute closest its two hours from Raleigh to Wilmington

myrtle beach i been there before it was awesome they have a lot of shops and if you go to a a certain hotel they have a gift shop in the inside pool in the gift shop they have swimsuits, shirts, etc, and food, and then they have an outside pool, and the pools are nice, and then in the middle of the hotels there is this pool that takes you around with this circle thing you can sit on and the beach is right by the hotel all you have to do is go pass the outside pool and walk across a little bridge then you are there that is all i can remember 4 now it been about 3 years since i been...lol

Wilmington and the Outer Banks in NC and Myrtle Beach in SC. They are all great beaches, check them out!
