hi is JSP a good choice for web applications ????

Depends on what kind of web app you want to develop. If you are developing a enterprise application which will require interfacing with different applications or if you plan to have some components developed using Java, then JSP is a good choice.

For simple sites (not necessarily small) PHP scripting would be better.

a wide selection in the future since jsp will be widely used in mobile applications. focus on mobile gaming ang utilities..
a good choice but you must know where the market is heading. tru upstream market rather than downstream market and get the patents and royalty well established.

yup its the best. Cuz then you can seggregate web designing and development... And its fairly simply compared to all servlets and all. Go for JSP.. all you have to do is deply it then,.. Not develop a seperate client interface and all that

I personally prefer PHP. As a long time PHP coder, there's tons and tons of resources online to help you out, along with vaults of open source code you can use. I think it's easier to use and PHP is now as good as any choice for creating web applications.
