Definitely a creative, i have a Zen Xtra 40 GB that has worked for over a year and a half without problems.

I would recommend Creative (www.creative.com).

Compared to iPods, they are:
- cheaper (mine was 50% cheaper)
- more durable (aluminum case)
- longer battery life (compared to video iPod)
- more versatile (create playlists on the fly, plays WMA files)

Also, you can replace the battery yourself when it goes bad, whereas with iPods, you have to send those in to get them replaced.

My particular model is the Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra, which holds 30GB and is less than $200.

The best one at the lowest price is the Sandisk Sansa m200 series. But, all their players are really good.

Apple Ipod for sure the 1st to list......but if you wanted cheaper but still good functions...must be Creative muVo or SOny....

zZen all theway ur creative i mean yah uhh if you want longer lasting batter say... more than 18 months get creative cuz ipod batters die in 18 months and plus much better sound quality
