First because is the ONLY sport that is played in all the countries except the Vatican City and Some Overseas Possessions (French Guyana, and some other islands in the Pacific and the Caribbean). Is also the most played sport in Europe and South America.
Second because even tough Brazil have won more cup titles, is always a fair sport, because we have Italy and Germany with tree titles and other worth two or one. So really there is no best country, and the dispute is good (As some good teams were left behind in this cup: Uruguay, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Turkey, Nigeria, Cameron...)
Third, is not like other sports as tennis and golf, where you need a whole lot of equipment, in soccer you only need a ball, and two rocks to make the goals, so poor countries in South America and Africa can afford their players to play and improve.
Fourth, is the only sport to be prove to unite countries, and to make their fans love their country and fell patriotic. If you see all the games, at the end they shake their hands and they exchange T-shirts, something that is not common, specially among nations from other continents and other cultures.
Fifth, Is fun to see your country playing with other teams, and to get this vision of how everyone enjoys goals more than Aces(tennis), and other things in sports.

is hard to watch it and enjoy it when you have never played it understand it or have a favorite team you go for im american and i like our kinda football too but alot of the times i get bored watching nfl games because i dont like either team just. look for a couple of teams in the world cup that interests you soccer is the sport the can relate to almost anyone

Well, firstly, nationalism... many people feel proud as their teams play in the final games of World Cup. Secondly, soccer is a quite popular sport around the world (I'd even say the most popular one).

Because we enjoy watching football & the World cup is the biggest, technically superior & most entertaining tournament of the sport.

Because its a great game! everyone just gets caught up in cheering for their team, getting drunk, partying and making new friends. The World Cups the best place to make friends with people from different countries.
There's no logical reason why we love it, we just do!!!
The hot guys may have something to do with it though....

Because as an american, no one else here is. And as we all know nothing is cooler than doing what no one else is doing. Also it makes me part of a cool clique of "insiders". Plus in america everything that is european is automaticaly "classy" and sophisticated! I like to sip merlot and talk futball! What a pathetic country we are, we think sport is a bunch of massively overpaid steroided up guys runing around in so much padding they could jump off a 5 story building and survive.....and that's what we call football..........sad,so very vary sad.....

Cause it'a a beautiful game even though i'am a woman but i like watching football (but i don't like playing football) i like saw a football player they really cool.
