so here is the deal, i had my friend install windows on my C hard drive but he installed a counterfeit version of windows on my C drive. So i bought a legitimate version and installed it on my D drive. I have 50Gb hard drives and each one has a version of windows xp i am getting this dual boot screen and i need to delete the illegitimate version because it slows my computer version down. so does anybody know how to delete the second version even though it is on my C drive? i need to delete it thank you for help

you would need to format your D: drive and edit your boot up. Google for a specialized program that can edit your boot up entry.

Boot into the original XP, then go to the C: & format the entire drive ( if only windows is there) or select the WINDOWS folder and delete it. Then go to the boot.ini file and remove the deleted windows entry. you can get help on editing the boot.ini file from net.
