All those who answered Coelocanth don't know what you've been missing! See the NOVA link below. My fave is the Mississippi River Paddlefish.

BTW I was told the Coelacanth was well known and common in the local fish markets where it was found, it was the scientists who took a long time to find it. This was from an instructor at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois.

Coelacanth, it was thought to be extinct but was discovered by some fisherman
