The so-called "end date" of 2012 is vastly misunderstood.
On 12-21-2012, the Mayan Long Count calendar rolls over from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns, like our calendar going from 1999 to 2000 (but a Baktun is 396 years long). Also on that day, there is a rare (once in 26,000 years) conjunction between the sun and the milky way at dawn which signal the rebirth of the sun and the dawn of a new world age. There's nothing about this world ENDING at that moment and that's simply because our world already ended; we're living in the in-between times waiting for the new world to begin.

I believe that On December 23rd, 2012 in Mayan prophecy, their calendar ended because that is when the future can no longer be predicted. I feel that because of the world changes, that will be a turning point for mankind, and the beginning of a peaceful world. Like our own civilization, that is something they couldn't understand, and so they ended it there. I feel it will be a new beginning.

No, I don't believe that the world will end because this is a world without end according to the books of Matthew, Luke John, Amos, Zachariah and the Revelations
I do believe that there will be a major shift in world or planetary events that will forever change the course of mankind on that day...
nuclear holocaust, the rapture of the saints unto heaven's gate, visitors descending on planet earth (as mentioned in revelations and Ezekiel)

No. People have been predicting the end of the world since they've had the ability to realize that one day it MAY end. The moral is: Live your life now. If you believe in all of that stuff, you sure don't want to be sorry when your DOOM DATE comes along.

No, I don't. Simply because Native american mathmatics, although extremely accurate for its time, always has some crucial fundamental mistake, since their math computations were always based on solstices, stars, astronomical phenomena, etc. For instance, the Aztecs predicted the world would end about five years ago from present day, unless heaven has internet, we ain't dead.

Rather you should be asking "What will begin when the Mayan calendar ends?"
It is the beginning of a new era, a new age. It won't be quite obvious when it passes.

Nope. The Mayans had it all wrong.
I don't believe there's any such thing as a
world "as we know it."
My world is not like your world. My children's world is not like my world. It ends every couple of years, anyway.

I believe the prophecy has been properly translated and recorded (thus it exists) but I doubt it will really come to pass.
