Essentially, it's a harmless religion. People have a lot of misconceptions about it. All of the people who say it's dangerous and such have are misinformed.

Here's a basic outline:

They believe in karma/three-fold rule. Any kind of energy you send out, good or bad, will come back to you three-fold.

There's a reed that goes along with the religion. The last line is along the lines of "An it harm none, do as ye will." So, basically, do what you want, as long as it doesn't harm anyone, including yourself.

Wiccans are great in the sense that the religion teaches that they don't think that Wicca is the ONLY way.

Wicca is a nature religion. They believe that everything living (plant, animal, human, etc) have a spirit.

Wiccans generally believe in two dieties, Gaea (Mother Earth) and the Horned God (which is largely responsible for people getting the wrong idea and assuming that Wicca has any sort of link to Satanism, which is doesn't. The Horned God has nothing to do with Christianity's "Satan".)

It's hard to make a good overview being that there are a lot of different sub-catagories for Wicca, each slightly or largely differing from the other.

I'm a Solitary Eclectic Wiccan, there are many different facets of Wicca. Although there are some traditions that stand firm as you have heard, The Three Fold Law and Wiccan Rede. I would recommend you read Scott Cunningham. There is also www.witchvox.com. Also reading history of Wicca or old religions, we've been around for a while. There is no devil or hell for me. No Satan, pitchforks or eternal damnation. I would not force my religion onto anyone and I would never say that my way is the right way, for I believe that everyone has there own path to follow. All that I ask is tolerance and respect.

Church and School of Wicca

Welcome to the Church and Schoolof Wicca's homepage. Since 1968 we have taught, travelled and written, sharing:
"An it harm none, do as you will"

This website contains materials by and about the Church and School of Wicca, including history, course descriptions, biographies of the founders, instructional tapes for sale, and more.

We are always happy to meet someone else who is interested in exploring Witchcraft, the Old Religion, and its way of life. Witchcraft (Wicca Craeft), is also called Wicca, or alternatively, The Craft. This previously underground religion has much to teach every human about survival and about the ethical use of natural innate powers.
The Craft is a way of life that investigates every potential that you have. The Craft draws its strength from the diversity of Nature itself; indeed it rejoices in diversity. Your views and interests are just as valid as anyone else's, and we hope that you too will help to push back the artificial barriers that surround many religious dogmas.
As we will mention several times on this website,
Witches are not Satanists. The negativity in that offshoot of Christianity is not for harmonious thinkers such as Witches.
Feel free to explore this website and to let us know what you think. This site is created with a wheel and spoke design in mind, so each link to the left will take you to more links and more information. Blessed be!

I recently started practicing wicca. But before I decided to convert I did a lot of research, I looked online, read a lot of books, and talked to my friend who practices. Just make sure that learn all you can. Do a google search, go to your local public library (I found a lot there), and talk to whoever you can. I'd be happy to try to answer any questions you have. Wicca is just another religion like any other. If you are scared for your friend, don't be. If you are just curious and want to know where your friend is coming from, good for you. Try gooleing and such. Christian sites may tell you it is conected to satanism but they are wrong. It is conected to the old Pagan religions that predate Christianity in Europe and so this tends to freak them out so they jump to satanism.

I suggest talking to your friends who are starting up, because just any search or google will just bring up a LOT of sites that will tell you wiccans do this and never do that then the nest site will tell you otherwise. Also, go to your local library and look up books by Ann Moura, Scott Cunningham, and Konstantinos. They're great reads for beginners.

Your friends didn't start the religion. It's been around for quite a long, long time. They probably just got started with their studies of the Craft. Check out the source below for more information in your area. It'll give you names of people, events, stores in your city/town & state.
