Vary the foods you eat. Try to include more low calorie, high fiber foods, such as fruits and vegetables, in place of fatty foods. (But don't eliminate oils and fats and protiens, you need the protien to rebuild cells and for cell growth, but it's a certain amount of oils or fats that are needed to trigger the "enough switch," that is, to satisfy the body that you've eaten enough.) Eat supper early, you are asking for trouble (as in heart trouble) if you eat supper at, say, 8 p. m. and go to bed soon thereafter. Eat early enough so that by bedtime you've burned off much of the caloric intake. Try not snacking before bed.
And, yes, as soon as you start feeling full at mealtimes, don't eat much else. Wait a bit after supper and go for a walk or ride a bike.
Don't drink beer in the evening! It's like feeding grain to cattle being fattened at a feedlot! (There's a good reason for the term beerbelly!!!)

I would say a support system. Get a group of friends or just one and keep track of each other. Encourage each other to eat healthy and maybe workout or walk together. Good luck.
