i do not have a political affiliation i never agree %100 with one so why should i follow them. I think of my own ideas and believe what i would like. The most important issue is national security and terrorism, because without our own security and having invaders, nothing else can ever be accomplished.

I'm a pragmatic liberal. What that basically means is that I favor progress and taking steps forward over steps backward, though I have a realistic view of the world and generally support measures of realistic nature. While I would probably be classified as a Democrat based on party structures, I would generally consider myself to be of my own opinions, rather than the blanket opinions of a party. I am extremely liberal on social issues, though with the economy I tend to lean more towards the middle.

The most important issue facing the United States at the moment is individual entitlement. Between 1776-1900, we had a generally isolationist foreign policy, and we basically did our own thing. After the Spanish-American war, we began to expand outward, and by the end of WWII, we were the big kids on the block (excluding the Soviets). The Cold War provided America with a goal to strive for- to defeat the evil communists, the common enemy of all the free peoples of the world. It gave us something to work towards, something to sacrifice and strive towards. Take the Space Race for example. While it had no real significance to land on the moon, we did it anyway just to show that we could. And, of course, along the way we got some pretty useful inventions. However, now that the cold war is over, we have nothing to strive toward. We have all the money and the guns, and we know that. Suddenly courtesy to our fellow Earth-dwellers is gone. With no other common enemies left, we're forced to sit back, relax, and get lazy. No wonder we're falling behind in just about everything! In my opinion, if we had one thing that we really needed to work on pronto, it's the abolishing of self-entitlement. Nobody country DESERVES to be top-banana. We have to EARN top-banana. And right now our top-banana status is being eaten by gigantic metaphorical gorillas representing industrious nations, like the EU Japan and China.
