This is a good one. Also, www.britishcouncil.org/hu/kidssongs
They also have a video with the songs.
Are you familiar with Baby Einstein videos. You can get them at Target. They have great educational and entertaining videos that your grandson will enjoy, depending on age. Plus, try hand puppets when you sing the songs. You can make them out of a sock, with buttons for eyes, and use a sharpie marker to draw a mouth. You dont have to spend tons of money on these puppets. My husband used some old funky sock and our daughter laughed and cooed for hours.

I know quite a few - problem is I don't know which ones you know!
Here's one
"Hush little baby, don't say a word
Momma's gonna buy you a Mocking Bird
If that Mocking Bird don't sing
Momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring
If that Diamond ring turns brass
Momma's gonna buy you a looking glass
If that looking glass gets broke
Momma's gonna buy you a billy goat
If that billy goat runs away
Momma's gonna buy you a brand new today"
Another: (Actually, this is from a movie - same one as "Annie's Song" - "Love means never having to say you're Sorry" - My boys loved it until they were 9 years old!)
"Baby, are you crying?
Do your tears belong to me?
Did you think our time together was all gone?
Baby, stop your crying
I'm as close as I can be
And I think our time together
Has just begun.
Close your eyes and rest your weary mind
I promise that I'll stay right here beside you.
Since the day our lives were joined
Became entwined
I promised I would love you
For all Time
Baby, stop your crying
I'm as close as I can be
And I swear our time together
Has just begun"

My little one loves the "ride the pony" rhymes that we do with her. Like "To Market, to market", "This is the way the ladies ride", and "A Farmer went riding upon a gray mare". She also likes the song "Goodbye Ol' Paint"
I'll include a couple of websites that might be useful. The one for "Goodbye Ol' Paint" has LOTS of other songs listed that might be fun, too!

This site has many rhymes too~
http://www.nurseryrhymes4u.com/PORTLA2new/Page_NR2.html
My kindergarten students love the old Tom T. Hall (I Love...)songs~
"Sneaky Snake" really cracks them up~
``And then sneaky snake goes dancin’, wigglin’ and a-hissin’
Sneaky snake goes dancin’, gigglin’ and a-kissin’
I don’t like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see
When he goes wigglin’ through the grass, it tickles his underneath``

i put this one to a tune and sing it to my baby, i put his name instead of baby.
sleep, baby, sleep
your daddy guards the sheep
your mommy shakes the slumber tree
and from it fall sweet dreams for thee,
sleep, baby, sleep
i also reworded the "lullaby and goodnight" tune that is so popular:
lullaby, and good night,
go to sleep little baby,
close your eyes now, sleepy head,
and I'll tuck you into bed,
when you wake, a new day
yours to eat and sleep and play.
my kids ask me to sing these songs to them almost every night, even though they're older now.
Enjoy that little guy! He'll only be tiny once! :)
