Um, are you comfortable with your forest, because if you are, then keep it. If not, get rid of but I would suggest waxing over any other method of hair removal (it hurts but at least you dont have nasty rash from creams or itchy, scratchy regrowth from shaving).
Maybe you'd like to just experiment until you know how you like your vag? It's your vag after all so do what you will with it

Is there any chance smokey the bear is in there promoting safty? If so, i say keep it! Just in case all the visitors to your forest arnt educated on Forest fires.

I second the vote for a landing strip. looks a lot better. A forest is bushy and a landing strip looks clean

by all means cut it off, you'll thank me later,it feels so much better and you don't have all the odor you must have with the forest,i have a little advice for after you shave use vaseline it helps with the razor bumps and itching

Maybe you could try a partial clearing, or just one side and see how you like it.

Perhaps some selective trimming is in order if you are not comfortable with clear cutting.
