I read an article about how he wants to save his house from foreclosure and is broke... He wants people to donate $15 for a T-Shirt to try to make $250,000 by the end of the month.... Do you think it is tacky? (perhaps abusing his Celebrity status)?... or Gutsy?? (Telling the world his personal business and doing what he has to do)?

You know this is a GREAT question as it will surely draw the true Ethics out of your answerers... Personally I think it takes A LOT of fortitude to do what he is doing...he isn't laying there like a 'speed bump' and mock turtle crying. he is being terrifically proactive in his challenge...and I see dignity in this. I can say he was never one of my favourites before, in fact I didn't like the show...but what has emerge, in my opinion only, as a man who is thoughtful, strong, witty, and REFUSING to let the (metaphoric) ship go down....NOW i am absolutely a ...well if not a fan,....then definitely in his cheering section....He did his job so well that he has been taken as rather stupid....funny isn't it? The truth comes out and the best of us seems to be shown in a crisis....for this, he is proof positive.
I want to see him make this happen! Innovative and through it all, regardless of the out come...he stand steady fast and tall....
Well I bypassed your initial request which I shall now give...
"The man has Guts!"

T-a-c-k-y tacky! and somewhat amusing lol. I read the article about it when it was on yahoo homepage, I'll never forget, in it he said something to the effect of "if people didnt care, I wouldnt be where I am today". Yea, just where ARE you,Dustin?... you're broke as heck & begging people to buy cotton t-shirts with you're ugly mug on it for $15! If people cared then you'd be in a $40 million mansion like other celebs. And I also noticed on his website he spoke of having terrible credit rating before buying the house; how does one go about GETTING terrible credit?.. by not paying their bills! I use to watch SBTB every single day as a teen and honestly I never seen any talent in him even then, and had no clue why he was chosen for the show other than his looks. He should just be content that despite his lack of talent he was once popular & had money. Those 15 minutes of fame are over with now, welcome to the real world.

Sadly, I don't think that he will make enough money to save his home. I don't find what he's doing as tacky. If he were selling t-shirts to pay for cosmetic surgery, a vacation, a better car, or something equally frivolous I would say that is tacky. But, this is a desperate man trying to save his home. I have to respect the fact that he doesn't want to be homeless.

Wow, that's a tuffy. I think being a celb would make him not broke but then again he probably spent all his money. As for asking his fans to save his house for him, that is pretty gutsy in a totally crazy way. Most celebs don't like other people in their biz. I think that he is taking advantage of his fans. He probably lives in a nice fancy crib and spent all his money pimpin it out. Serves him right for having zero dollars. But if i were him, i'm probably do the same thing :)

what happened to that movie Dickie Roberts? did Dustin make any money from that movie? he is tacky because he is desparate because he is about to lose his home. he should have used the money more wisely and he wouldnt be in this situation. it is quite evident he lived beyond his financial means and he is literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. he should get back into acting, and maybe get back with the crew and do a Saved By the Bell reunion to make some extra money to save his home. he shouldnt be relying on the rest of America to get him out of this, because we sont ask for charity when things are rough with the rest of America

It is both, which makes it novel. The first to do anything unque is always accused of this. Look at the guy who sold pixels (dots) on his web site for $1 a pixel, with a 10 pixel minumum. He made a million dollars! So why shouldn't Mr. Diamond be allowed to try to market himself any way he likes? Personally, I hope enough foolish people help him out. He deserves their money ;)

Dustin Diamond did a comedy show where I used to work. He was awful! Rude to everybody. If he had talent he would not need to do any of this. It's just plain tacky.

I think GUTSY! If you are a celeb then why not try. and yes I would like to have one of the tshirts but I don't have $15 right now.

It would be a cute comic Christmas gift!
