My mom hates them. when they are so harmless even if she see's one she will scream bloody murder until someone kills it!

I think people do not like them because they think they are dirty. They also tiny and move very fast. I do not like them either.

They are very hard to kill and do carry diseases.
They will eat anything
Also, our ear wax acts as a natural repellent for all kinds of bugs except roaches. Small children who have hearing disorders will sometimes get them from having a roach crawl into their ear.

They can get pretty big in some parts of the world, too. As much as six inches long with a one foot wingspan.

Will most people don't like bugs in their houses and these bugs due cause health problems. It has been known that in the inner city areas where there are cockroaches have been the only known source of asthma out breaks in children.

My mom also hates them. Maybe people thinks that they are "gross" ad "yuck", but ma..what's the real problem? They're just animals, and all animals need to eat, right? So they like to eat yucky food, maybe not good for us but good for them. Anyway they've been on Earth for such a long time ago, and they have no problems at all.
So, hating cockroaches's just a stupid thought!

I hope you aren't considering doing cockroach rescue LOL. They are extremely nasty little pests. They crawl around over your countertops and dishes spreading their little grimy cockroach poop everywhere. you can always tell where a cockroach has been by the little black grimy dots they leave behind.
They get into your electronics and spread their grimy doo everywhere and screws your electronics up. Leave a bag of potato chips in the cabinet opened, but folded down they will get into it and when you grab a handfull watch out your liable to have a meaty chip. They are extremely nasty.

I don't hate cockroaches at all nor do I like them very much.I actually admire them that they have been living on the earth from the time of dinosaurs till now and they can adapt to any kind of surroundings (or pesticide).Yet it is kind of irritating to have them around the house.The run all around the house and destroy anything and everything(like my microwave oven).

Good question - I guess it's because alot of people don't like having to deal with any other creatures that are as opportunistic and "messy" as we are! Comparatively speaking, cockroaches don't do nearly as much damage as people themselves.

Because they will eat and get into anything, including poop. And when they are in the matting season - the ones with wings will fly right into your face. But don't worry they will outlive us all. They have great resistance and are said to be able to withstand the atom bomb. sus04mc@yahoo.com

No, it's not. They carry diseases and crawl EVERYWHERE. My cousin had one CRAWL INTO HER EAR while she slept. In urban areas, the presence of a nest of cockroaches in a home will cause allergic reactions in children.

It is because they are dirty, and they can spread disease-which means they are actually harmful. But I don't hate them. Usually, when I see one, I use my slipper to push it out the window or the door.

idk, i think that everybidy hates one animal/bug or another, unforunately most hate any of them that isn't "pretty" by their definition. However, if your feeling bad for cockroaches, remember that a lot of people actually do keep them for pets and train them like some people train fleas, after all, like you said, they really are harmless!
