Yes, it is time to give up this obsession with celebrities, overpaid pro athletes and such. I think it would be awesome to see a magazine filled with stories about ordinary people devoting their time and energy to helping the homeless, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and especially the ones who are doing all they can to support our military men and women. I care less what designer some ditzy actress wore to yet another awards ceremony, I wouldn't wear what they wear to a cat fight.
These celebrities for the most part, only care about themselves and very few could be good role models. I don't feel sorry for them when their shows get cancelled or their movies flop.
Take away the makeup, wigs, expensive clothes and these people don't look any better than the ordinary folk, in fact, alot of them are downright homely without all the makeup.

I completely agree, it would stop people like Paris Hilton becoming a celebrity, she has no talent whatsoever. Without us, the "public", buying their films, perfumes, autobiographies etc they wouldn't have a leg to stand on, and they go around treating us like dirt, for example Mariah Carey who thinks the world revolves around her, and J.Lo. Get. Over. Your. Self.
Some of these people wouldn't look good without airbrushing, personal trainers, and whatever else they do. People like Kate Moss annoy me, she's getting more contracts than before this whole cocaine thing! That isn't a very good message. Take some drugs and end up getting more money, and endorsement deals.
And I don't care if Britney is drinking, smoking or whatever. My sister drinks and smokes, why should I give a **** about that? People leading hard lives derserve publicity. I think what it is, is that REAL news is depressing, so they fill it up with some crap about a celeb who stepped in chewing gum, which makes me more depressed. Has anyone seen that show "Super Sweet Sixteen"? That ***** me right off, I DON'T CARE, they moan about how **** their life is. TRY LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD AND SEE HOW HARD IT IS!

Yes it is time it all stopped. What really annoys me is when you read a newspaper and front page news is Posh Spice Farts, or something as mundane and when you get to page 5 there is a small article that says as if an afterthought. Flooding, plague and pestilance in some third world country as if Posh Spice farting is more important. As a p.s If they called her ' Posh ' Spice why does she look so common?

My dad might communicate the applicants, what they needed to do to enhance upon the present venture and we'd then have a communicate. There may be a kin vote and who ever gained that vote advance into the guy or situation that my dad might vote for. i needed to be waiting to vote and exhibit my opinion. whilst the vote casting age replaced from 21 to 18, i advance into ecstatic! I even have voted in each presidential election and city/state election in view that. I even have additionally been an election decide. this may be a definite good that all and sundry people have and it would be used! As for people who say that they do no longer seem to be of age to vote, they are in a position to touch the senators, congressmen and Representatives of their district. there is no age shrink on that! whilst my daughter grew to become 18, between the birthday presents that I gave her advance right into a voter registration variety. mothers and fathers ought to inspire communicate of activities with their infants and should additionally set a stable occasion. get removed from the Hollywood drama for a jiffy and see what is going on on your international. I even have seen interior of reach elections desperate by potential of purely some votes. One vote could make a difference!

I agree it's time we stopped, and got on with real issues.
But the public hunger for scandal & gossip is never satisfied. And a lot of people long to see these sort of people suffer or fall from grace to show they're mere mortals like the rest of us. But it’s the public who pay these celebrities their wages and put them on a pedestal in the first place.

I think it's a shame when you see these Tara Palmer Tomkinson type girls in magazines looking emaciated and skeletal on the beach and the little girls think that that is the look to aspire to. Give us some REAL women like Charlotte Church and Liz McLarnon who are curvy and healthy looking. Studies have shown that men love these type of gilrs so what are these magazines forcing on our young, and more importantly....why?

Yep. Reality tv has flooded the airwaves, there's nothing on anymore but celebreties and even nobodies who hope to become celebrities behaving badly. Real news has taken a backseat to tabloid gossip, and it makes Americans look foolish and boorish to the rest of the world.

Newspapers would be pretty thin without them, and it'll all be about who killed who today or who tragically died. It'd be really depressing without a celebrity to laugh at!
