If I learn more about assistive technology, I may get paid more. Additionally, I'll be able to help the people I serve their and answer more sophisticated questions. I do wish computers did not break down so much and that the people who were designing them would actually take the time to write proper clear and human instructions. People used to write tutorial files with much greater care and much more completely. They didn't just leave you in the middle of the task with technical jargon. Also not everyone is 20 years old with perfect eyes for an 8 point font.

Here's how it will help you:

1. You'll learn something new and challenging.
2. There's so much to learn.
3. You won't have to wait on a phone for 30 minutes only to get a person with such a think accent that you can barely understand them. Then, after you've pulled your hair out trying to troubleshoot over the phone, you will think "Why didn't I bother to learn this!"
4. You will save money, because you can't understand those thick accents and will have to pay a local tech for his/her help.

general computer information can pretty much help you with anything. learning is a skill in itself. also many major companies are starting to use computers to do everything. computers make things more efficiant such as with writing, you can write things out at about 30 words a min. or you can type @60 wpm. there are things like quick books or microsoft exel that make orginitation alot easier. you can give a regular speech or you can use power point to add pictures or graph and charts. computers offer you so much and all you need to do is learn how to use it

I think to really know computers you need to know the history behind them. If you have a better understanding of where this technology has come from, how is has progressed, and what benefits it has bestowed, I belive you will have a much firmer grip on what the possibilities for the future will hold.

you are kidding right?

I graduated from high school in 1974. There were no computers.

I had 2 children and went to Germany for 3 years.

I came back to the states to the states in 1988. Everyone had computers.

I went to work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1993 in the business office in accounting.

Long story made short, I now work in the I.T. Department.

COMPUTERS ARE THE FUTURE !!!!!!!!!!!!

GO TO COMPUTERS
