then it stopped running. It gets fire from the coil to the distributor, but it's not coming out of the distributor. What is the problem?

check the rota and make sure it's in right, flip it around and if that is not the problem then the distributor might be off time.

your Module is faulty or the distributor cap
You may of also got the timing off and it's not firing at the right time

Re-time the engine with the distributor and #1 plug..
Do you know how to do this??

----------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------
Cracked Cap
------------
Look for hair line cracks inside your distributor cap
if you see any that may look like a pencil mark than it's jumping fire
Replace your cap.
----------------------------------------
Module
-----
This is what your wires go to inside the distributor
This is an easy fix
You should beable to do this while the distributor is still in the truck
Careful for the little screws you have to remove
---------

TIMING
-------

first find your #1plug hole

Take your plug out
You will need a second person

Put your big finger in the plug hole
while ur partner nudges the engine over little by little

The compression stroke will blow ur finger out.
Try to get it at the hardest blow
Stop there
You #1 piston should than be at the top ready to set your distributor

OK

Reset your distributor in so the rotor button is pointing at the wire on the cap that goes to that #1 plug

Put your cap back on ,snug down the distributor and see if it starts.

You than can move the distributor forward and back to get it where you think it should be to run correctly

Use a timing light to get it exact
----------------------------
----------------------
OK
Does it run yet....??
