I grew up with '80s rock, and still get into Godsmack, Korn, Limp, Fall Out Boy,... etc. My 14 year old daughter and I listen to the same radio station.
If you like Twisted Sis and QR you might wanna try:
Autograph - Turn Up The Radio
Accept - Balls to the Wall
Cinderella - Nobody's Fool
Dio - The Last in Line
Europe - The Final Countdown
Faith No More - Epic
Great White - Wasted Rock Ranger (This one's funny)
Guns 'n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (this one's from the '60s, but REALLY rocked)
Judas Priest - Parental Guidance / You've Got Another Thing Comin'
L.A. Guns - Never Enough
Living Colour - Cult of Personality
Loverboy - (just pick up a greatest hits cd)
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde / Crush 'Em.
Metallica - Just about anything.
Poison - Talk Dirty to Me
Ratt - Round and Round / Lay it Down
The Ramones - Just about anything.
Van Halen - Just about anthing.
Most of these bands have other good songs. In most cases, I recommended the song I like the best.

I am also a fan of music from another era. For some reason listen to the likes of The Kinks and The Doors. I am huge fan of The Rolling Stones a,d I also like things as old as buddy Holly and Elvis. I also have a soft spot for the one of a kind era, as I like to call it the BIG HAIR ERA. I also enjoy music by Twisted Sister. Just because your 23 doesn't mean that you are too young. I know that I have my parents to thank for my taste in music. I would rather listen to the classics, then to the new music. Enjoy and rock steady.

Clearly the venom of Black Sabbath's lyrics has washed over you.
I like eighties rock, but seventies rock really influenced a lot of stuff you'll hear as rock / metal evolved, as far as I'm concerned.

lol...I'm 28...not too much older than you, but I know what you mean....
Cinderella and Warrant and EnufZnuff and Poison...but you can't forget Kiss and Black Sabbath who paved the way for all of them! (not to mention the doors and the Beatles and Stepenwolf who paved the way for Metal to even be born....but of corse if it weren't for Elvis ripping off the black blues & Gospel singers none of it would have happined at all)
