Short attention span. You can work on that by getting rid of the distractions when you sit down to read the book. Turn off the TV and the computer and the cell phone and anything else that is going to pull your attention away. And practice--it is just like anything else you do, if you practice it will get easier and you will get better at it.

A magazine can tell you a short story or give you the latest info on some Hollyweird puke but a good book can take you on an adventure. There are no limits to where or when it can take you. Let your imagination soar and your mind grow.

Mostly because it's easier to concentrate on shoes and clothes and ooo so and so broke up....blah blah blah, then to follow a story line, get to know the characters and the plot. It's easier to be fake than to actually open up intellect and get yourself into a book! magazines aren't as long either, and have a vast majority of subjects, while a book stays on track. I love reading books! Magazines are a waste of time (most of the time). If I'm going to spend money on reading material, it should last for a while! :) have a nice day! :)

magazines don't make you exert too much of your brain because it has all the pictures and the language is simple, a book causes you to use your imagination, to think outside of the box, and has a more extensive vocabulary.
