HMMM, good question!
Well if I had to do it over again, I might have been a history Major or took a different Engineering major. However since I'm not a teacher type, It would not have served me very much job wise. Choose your Major based on 1, what your really interested in. 2, what you want job wise. 3, The Real World. We need more Civil Engineers then Art History or Womens Studies majors in the Real World.

Yes and no. I like the major I chose, but I do not want to teach. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of call for Latin majors who don't want to teach. But the job I worked at for 20 years just required a degree in anything, so it was OK after all.

I chose mathematics and earned a BS and an MS with good grades. If I had to do it again I may choose something a little more marketable. However, I chose mathematics because I enjoyed solving problems and was always good at it. Homework was always fun. Plus the people I met (students and professors) were top-notch thinkers and interesting people. So, maybe it wasn't that bad of a choice afterall.

for undergrad, it's not incredibly important what you choose unless you are planning to go into engineering or science or something. Most entry level jobs just require a BA of some kind.
It only starts to matter in Graduate school where you get more specialized.
Anyway, yeah, i chose the right major.

I think I picked the wrong major but I was close. My degree is in chemistry but I think I should have become a chemistry teacher. Someday if I can work things out I would like to go back to school and get that teaching certificate.

Most definately. A doublt in Biology and Chemistry, with matriculation to either enter into Medical Sciences (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery), or BBMedSci in Physiology.

Yes, I did. I don't know how exactly I stumbled into it. But I remember reading somewhere that you should major in whatever comes easily to you, or else you will find yourself constantly struggling in college and later in your career. I followed that advice, and have never regretted it.

I sure did. The first time I went to college (15 years ago), I dropped out after the first year. This time, I make 4.0's and haven't left yet. I'd say that's good enough.
Peace and axle grease,
Jon
