Dude, Screw what these old antiquidated geezers say about "don't do it!", If you really wanna get one, then go ahead. Forget the"...it spells low class....." yadda yadda jazz, it's you body and when I had mine nooone really even notices that you have one unless you yawn or laugh loud. (and maybe the talking funny).
Anyway, if you gonna continue with your choice I've heard of people using a "No-C-um retainer where its basically a flat thing that is either clear or matches the color of your tongue and noone really notices. Although, for that I believe you first have to get past the 3 month waiting period of keeping the prerequisite steel that they first pierce you with (ask you local Piercer).
During that time you should :
1) Just don't look directly at your mom
2) Don't laugh in the direction of your mom, or don't open your mouth so wide.
3)Realize when you yawning and cover you mouth
4) Skip family dinners, for like the first week until the pain isn't so great.
if all else fails, or you don't like it once you remove it the hole closes in like an hour. That happened to me when my barbell fell out.
Best of Luck!
EDIT: "No c-ums" might also be spelled "No see ums" or "No-see-ums"

while you're below 18 you will want your determine to sign for you except you detect a save that doesn't care with regard to the regulation, and in the event that they do no longer care with regard to the regulation they in all probability at the instant are not sparkling. think of roughly that for a minute. additionally in maximum states it rather is against the regulation to pierce a minor without parental consent and the guy who does the piercing may be tried for mutilation of a minor which contains a 10 year penitentiary sentence in some states, is it nicely worth putting somebody else's existence in possibility that way? you will no longer have the alternative of donning a sparkling one on an identical time as you heal, the sparkling ones are made up of plastic and can't be sterilized without melting, so which you won't be in a position to have a sparkling one for 4 - 6 weeks. you would be swollen and sore for the 1st week that can and frequently does result the way you communicate. additionally the 1st time you pass to the dentist, they are going to be conscious and tell your mothers and fathers while you're below 18. whether you're taking the jewellery out they are in a position to oftentimes tell because of the ball formed indent interior the path of your tongue. the two get permission or wait til your 18.

Your tongue will close up quickly if you pull the tongue ring off. I would have to pull mine off when I would do my military reserve duties and I would have to re poke it open by lunch (about a 5 hour period) Even if you have it on for a while it heals up very fast. Aside from that, I wouldn't recommend hiding it from your mother. If she doesn't want you to get one, don't get one for now out of respect. When you hit 18, and you're of legal age ( or your out the house) go for it. I know its not what you want to hear but I've realized now how important to respect your parents wishes while your young. It breeds trust and maturity and helps keeps a good relationship for the future. But whatever you decide good luck.

It's creepy and don't do it. I spells low-life. As much as it seems sexy and cool (and I can dragged into that), I think it's a huge mistake. The good part is that you can always take it out. Maybe that about the only way to truly hide it from Mom. Little bit of a hassle I guess. Don't talk when you're looking at her face to face.

I had my tougue pierced, it was ok, but I took it out. It's not really that great... but you really can't hide it cause you won't be able to talk properly for a couple of days and she is going to want to know why...

you can`t hide it. unless you keep your mouth shut and never talk. but if you do talk and try hiding the peircing at the same time, then you`ll sound funny.

Just don't talk, eat, drink....
She's gonna find out and be pretty upset. Better to go on and own up to it. If you want to be treated as mature, you need to start. Be ready to accept the consequences.
