Long story short out of no where he said that if he gets a year round job at his old summer camp year round, he's moving either with or without me. He then told me after I tried to compromise that I would eventually move down there w/me, he wanted to see how much I'd fight to keep him. The next day he told my best friend "my life is more important than us, it sucks but it's life".

I told him that if he wants to play big ball and say his life is more important than us, he'd have to give me a commitment with a ring if he expects a commitment like that out of me.

He said "ok ok, i will when we have enough $. if you keep running your mouth I'm going to Gold and Pawn and buying you a $50 ring".

Look I know that you don't really want to hear this but you did ask, take it from me I have been there and done that. When he made the choice to take a job which would take him away from you not knowing how that would effect your relationship he was tell you that he wasn't sure about the two of you. You calling him on it and telling him you want a ring really doesn't mean crap. I mean think about it, if you have to ASK for a ring then how much does it really mean. A guy is suppose to give you a ring when he wants to make sure that you and everyone else knows that you belong to him. He does this because he wants too. But your guy didn' tdo this, no he takes a job that moves him further away from you. Maybe you should really think about what it is that he is saying to you. I am not trying to be mean, but I have been in this situation and beleive me I know that it hurts, but take my word for it, it hurts alot worse when you settle for something other than what you really deserve. Beleive me there are guys out there that want only to make you happy all you have to do is LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

You are giving him the impression that you can be bought. That all bad things and all bad thoughts and all fights and differences can be bought out with jewelry. If you honestly believe that forcing him to give you a ring is going to increase his desire to have you in his life or to work things out, you are mistaken. He will simply expect something in return for his investment. This guy obviously doesn't really care about your relationship. (You don't mention whether you're being intimate physically, but if you are, all the more reason not to force him to by the 'ring'). You need to work out in your head whether or not you want him in your life in a more permanent way. Good Luck.

i think hes self-centred, rude and obviously doesnt love you as much as you think he does, if he isnt willing to respect your decisions and i mean its understandable that he has a career to fulfull but you are in his life now, and if ur going to comit to this relationship 100% then why cant he? he has to meet you half way aswell. He should love and respect you enough to think about your needs aswell as his, he cant just use you when he wants and then say "cya, im leaving" dont let him play you around like apuppet, and follow off on his every move, be confident, do your own thing, and his loss, dont cry if he leaves you, give him the impression that hes nothing without you and u can cope life without him. good luck.

I wouldn't take a ring from a guy who you had to threaten into getting it. When you get a ring it should be from the man's heart, not a situation like this. I think that it is very immature of you to try and stand in the way of your boyfriend trying to get a better job.

Well I think the way you are thinking is just great don't let him get to you and you are right if he wants you to move then he also has to make a commitment to you. I think if he acts like that you deserve better. I also think that you are a beautiful and intelligent girl who can achieve anything and get anyone she desires's

Sounds like to me he is trying to weasel out of the relationship. You better watch him, he might get the ring from a gumball machine.

You go your way and le him go his sometimes you have to place self before others. If you really have love it will last the test of time and distance. No one likes to be told "YOU WILL OR ELSE"
