Join the theater department at school. Take acting classes in the city where you live. Call the Community Theaters in Chicago and ask if they teach acting classes to teens, if not, ask if they can recommend a school.

There should be a of places in Chicago for you to study. Be sure your parents are aware of what you plan to do.

Tell your parents that you want to take acting classes. You and your parents should look for classes - ask your parents to call the Community Theaters in Chicago, there are probably quite a few of them.

Ask the theaters if they teach acting classes, if they do not, ask them to recommend some schools in Chicago for a 13 year ol.

Good luck.

You get lucky, you have the first part of being in a place where you might get recognised, unlike myself living in North Dakota.

Just keep auditioning for big shows and plays, aim for the "damsell in distress" role. Thats how all the big stars start.

Good luck, superstar!
