I am relatively young kid Guyanese (Caribbean) kid born in NY i want to become a pilot but i look very middle eastern. Every Flight school east coast has had to perform 50 background checks before they even considered me i just want to know if you think things will get back to normal where America is once again equal.

Afraid not, can't turn back time which is what would have to happen in order for America to again be "equal".

Unfortunately, it seems you have been rolled up into a ball along with every person who looks/is middle eastern, an unfortunate stereotypical attitude.

Try to work through the security checks tho, don't give up your desire to become a pilot, you can prove to them that you are deserving of the opportunity to pursue your dream and reach your goals just like anyone else.

Good luck

After everything that terrorists have done to this country & continue to do to our soldiers & civilians overseas, I seriously doubt Americans will ever trust people of a certain culture. I know I will never forget what they've done. Sorry you, an innocent kid, has to deal with the fallout. But don't blame Americans, blame you distant relatives.

America is a relatively new country and is going to change and continue to grow older as time bring changes our way.
The question is, Will America turn into a country similar to these older countries? Are we being worked this way?We can't go backward but hopefully we can learn as we grow forward.

The last time when things were so called normal. We had 3500 people killed in 20 minutes and lost 20 billion dollars in the blink of an eye. That was when things were normal. Do you really wont to go back to normal?

that doesn't mean we they are not treating you equal... they just aren't taking chances (understandably) and once you come clear, then you have just as much chance as the next guy.

I don't think it is a big deal, do you?

If someone did a background check on my bc I looked like someone or whatever, it would not bother me bc I know the results would be OK.

Really, it's not a big deal! :)

American never has and probably never will be equal. I don't think humans will ever see everyone as equal. It may take awhile but I'm sure we'll find another race to pick on. Sorry but that's the way I think........ and I'm American by the way

Personally I don't think it's a matter of being equal it's a matter of Home Land Security

I doubt it.
As America sinks into debt, and people get weirder and weirder, there is no telling what is going to become of this country that once HAD good ideas and visions.

I don't think so, and it's sad. Or at least not for a very long time, IF nothing else happens in the meantime
