english is a tough language to learn... if you need verification of that fact, look at yahoo! answers. quite a few of the people who post here were born into english speaking families and their grammar and spelling is atrocious!
bottom line, as long as you're trying and realize that you've got room to improve, stop worrying about it! it'll take a while, but from your question, it seems that you've already got a huge lead over most who post here.
good luck!

Personally I can see that your trying. As long as you can have a simple conversation I see no problem. If you dont know English at all I dont think you should be allowed to live here. Just by that post I can see that you can speak English good enough to communicate. Keep learning, and dont get discouraged.

Keep trying. Watch movies, listen to podcasts, practice in front of friends. Make American friends. I find that its a mistake a lot of us International students make, we hang out with people like us and thats fine but you need to diversify the kind of people you interact with. Put yourself out there, I feel most Americans are really helpful if they see you are making an effort, especially at a University or school. Good luck!

Most Americans can only speak one language ... ( and their ability to do that is questionable)
I think it's fantastic that you're learning a new language. The fact that you're trying is wonderful.
When I was in Germany, I tried to speak German. A lot of times my communication turned into a game of charades - but it worked.
Keep up the good work, and good luck!

I think that there is a huge difference between foreigners who refuse to learn english, and foreigners who do make an effort, but who are simply bad at it. People will make fun of your accent, but most of us won't actually think any less of you.
Some people might think your stupid for not knowing english. I suggest you imagine them in your own country and have a good laugh.

I think it's awesome that you are learning the language and anyone who disrespects you because you are learning still doesn't deserve to talk to you. And let them know next time that English is a category 5 language, meaning it is the most difficult language to learn and that they should respect that because you are learning it and it would be very doubtful that they could learn it as a second language.

English is not our mother tongue. So please dont upset. Even most of the MNC owners dont speak English. Most of the big VIPs not even speaks English instead they have a special interpreter. But watch BBC or CNN news channels for pronounciation. This will help you a lot.

its probably not your English, its probably your accent, coz your English is good, maybe you should take some get rid of accent classes.
Also, you should be worried about what people say. seriously! u r who u r, you can only be who you are you cant be anyone else, so you give people who u r and that's it.
Lord knows how many times a day i feel unloved, the boyfriend who dumped me the girl that insulted me, the boss who screams at me etc.... what can we do? we can only be ourselves and nothing more. if somebody don't like what they see then let them close their eyes.

I think, If they have gotten this far, they are doing great!
Why criticize anyone who has worked so hard to get where they are going.
It sounds like you are doing very well in communicating this way, so keep up the good work! And don't let the ones who get upset bother you, they are the one's with the problem.
