Religion and government are two different things. Officials should be, and are, elected based on how well they serve the state or national government. Not because of religion.

No, I think they should be elected because they are honest and qualified for the job. I don't know what happened in this last election! Too many politicians label themselves religious just to get elected, but most are not!

If religion were a personal thing--as it should be--there would not be the broken separation of church and state that helps paint and defile an already wretched political system.

No. There are too many laws based on religion. Liquor stores forced to close on Sunday (MN State law) is an example of that ideology.

No,In fact, look where the Christian president got us. I do attend church, but, I don't use it as a crutch, or, expect anyone else to believe as I do, it's very personal and should remain that way.
