when we are measuring the tall of a person we always use feets or centimeters .how do we convert feets to centimeters and centimeters to feets?

There are 2.54 cm per inch. This is fixed bu the us department of weights and measures. There are 12 inches per foot. Therefore you use the following formula.

Y cm * 1 inch/2.54 cm * 1 ft / 12 inches = height in feet.

Use the factor of 0.3047972654.
If you multiply feet with the factor it gives you the answer in metres.
If you divide metres by the factor it gives you the answer in feet.

when you convert cm(s) to feet(s) you times the given value to (1 feet/12(2.54)cm) or (1/30.48) ft/cm. For ft to cm you times by 30.48cm/ft

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters

1 foot = 12 inches = 12*2.54 cm = 30.48 cm

so multiply somebody's height in feet by 30.48 to get height in cm

or.. divide their height in cm by 30.48 to get their height in feet
