get a test light or a volt meter or take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Depending on the trailer, but industry standard has wires color coded. Don't know what type of trailer your working on so can't be real specific. But check your brown or black wires for power supply from your vehicle ( could be a blown fuse). Ckeck your ground circuit, (usually the white wire). Hope this helps. Just so you know typically yellow=left signal (it has a L in it), green=right signal (it has an R in it) and red=stop/brakes.

If no lights come on you probably don't have a good ground.
Check white wire or clean hitch and ball.( -) goes through the frame
(+) is the other wires

If this is about where you live-pay the electric bill.
