Many people still have the old format televisions, and hate that black bar on top and bottom.
While with widescreen, you can see the whole movie, it's often hard to see the faces. I'm always hitting the zoom button to enlarge the screen. Usually when it's a person to person shot. And back to widescreen, when it's showing a big scene, where I want to see it all.
Some folks prefer the screen and scan of the full screen.

Some people still don;t realize that when watching a film in full-screen they are not seeing the whole picture the way the filmmakers intended.
Personally I think the video companies should just do wide screen and force people to get used to it.

widescreen DVDs show more on the sides of a scene, thats why theres black bars on top and bottom. fullscreen DVDs have a larger picture, but cut off the sides.

Some odd reason, people still buy full screen. As long as there is a market, there will be sellers.

particular. Assuming your DVD participant is wisely set, the widescreen format (which, because of the fact the different poster suggested, is typically greater true to the unique presentation of the action picture interior the theaters) could desire to demonstrate on your common television in "letterboxed" format, with "black bars" above and decrease than the image.
