What is the one thing you hate most about being a woman?
No men please!

I would like to thank all you ladies for taking the time to answer my question. I agree
with you all. I have 3 grown daughter and I know it stinks having your period. There
isn't a man I know that could handle the pain, cramps or mess a woman goes
through every month. I also feel that women are stronger then men. A man could
never do what you do. Plus the babies. For you women that work and take care of a
family I know you are working hard. Women are not suppose to be skinny and what
the US excepts you to be. That's why I feel like women are special and should be
treat special and with respect. If I could I would give you all best answer because
you all deserve it. But I can't and my heart went out to one little lady that answered.
BTW I'm a old man. It takes man forever to realize things.

it's hard to pick just one thing. let's see, there's the obvious period for starters. i didn't ask for it. but there it is: once a month i'm doubled up in pain for at least a day and i can't go anyplace that doesn't have a bathroom near-by for at least a week. don't get met started on what it's like to have it while you're traveling.

then there's the fact that my dad and my brother are incapable of feeding themselves. of course since i'm the female, it's my job to make sure everyone doesn't starve. not to mention that if it wasn't for me, they would both be living in squalor. i guess it's easier to let the dishes pile up without rinsing them and leave your dirty napkins all over the place if you know there's someone there to clean it all up.

then there's the fact that it seems like i have to do everything extra-well to prove to my male friends that i'm not some sissy girl just like all the rest of them. if i ask a question that seems obvious, everyone laughs at me. when a guy asks the same question, they answer it. if i miss a shot while we're out kicking around a soccer ball, i'd never hear the end of it. the guys miss easier shots than that, and nobody says a thing.

and let's not forget curfew! my brother, who is two years younger than i am, can leave the house for hours and my parents won't get mad. if i'm not home by a certain time or call to say where i am and why i'll be late, i can count on not leaving the house for at least a week.

and then there's the little things. like no matter how hard i work in life, i'll always know that a man doing the same job somewhere is getting paid more than i am. or whenever i get mad at a man, he always assumes i'm just PMSing and that it'll blow over. things like that. trust me, it sucks being a woman.

That as we age, it takes more time and effort to look really good, whereas we accept men as they are growing older (except of course the unkempt ones.) But, I have loved being a woman and I feel we have an advantage when we need help or need some answers. There is always that boy, girl stuff even if the age differential is 40 years. If you have developed the personality through the years, you will get the assistance or help you need from a man.

Being considered inferior to men:

I'm tired of men always thinking that we are weak. Even though they are naturally stronger than(testosterone) it is not impossible to do the same things they can do.( I bench pressed a lot my first time being out of shape).
Also I hate the men that expect us to stay at home and be subserverent all day. I don't mind doing things for my man but some go to far with the demands to the point of submissivness.

Nothing - I love being a woman. Men are the ones with the envy...they are completely envious of the relationships we have with our friends b/c they know, they will never experience the emotional closeness shared between girlfriends.

As another above me said - we should all be proud to be women...Im happy and proud to be the woman i am.

Having to deal with self image. I mean we always hear about the "ideal" women that men are looking for. Yes im talking about looks, and it seems that if we dont have them its really hard to get a guy to notice us, Im not saying that its impssible, its just that looks play such a huge role with most men that it takes the fun out of trying to meet them. Im always so self concious that I cant approach a guy........I guess thats just my personal opinion.

I love being a woman. I would have to agree with the girl that said she'd love to just be able to have meaningless sex without being labeled a whore or slut. Otherwise, it's great, especially to con men into getting what we want lol.

Having to make a choice between a career and motherhood and being criticized for it no matter which one I choose.

Traditionalists would shun me for choosing a high-powered career over being at home when my children get home from school.

Liberals would tell me I wasn't exercising my rights if I stayed at home and didn't get a job.

Is there no happy medium here?!?!

It would have to be having a period every month over and over again. I feel as though it will never stop. I already am done having kids so why must it continue!!!

being expected to work, pay the bills, cook dinner for the spouse every night after work, clean the house, do the laundry, do everything with and for the child..
all in 24 hours and expected to be happy that I might get 2 hours of sleep..

Sorry to disappoint you, but there is nothing I hate about being a woman. I love being able to have children, and to raise and nurture them. I love being able to partner my husband, in all aspects of our life. I love being able to play 'girly' when I want to, and at other times behave more grownup.
As Pat Suzuki sang in Flower Drum Song, "I enjoy being a girl...."
