A free mind is one which is emptied of dogmas of all sorts. Francis Bacon has classified dogmas into four types: some are within the individual human person, some are peculiar to the human species, some come from the market place and some come from 'authoritative' persons or texts. A free mind does not cling to any view, nor does it cancel out any without reason.

Did you ever see Hannibal? Now that was an open mind! Seriously, I think that someone with an open mind has their own opinions and convictions but is willing to listen to all sides of an argument or to allow others to state their opinions. A person with an open mind is able to change their opinions or convictions if through gaining knowledge on the subject they realize they might have been wrong. A person with an open mind is not too motivated by their ego to admit that they might be wrong. A person with an open mind, although they might not agree with your view, will not condemn you for it but congratulate you for being strong enough to take a stand.

Fake. I say this because we are all prejudiced and biased in our thinking no matter how we may try to present ourselves in public. Saying you have an open mind is really saying you like to argue or debate. In private, while relaxing with our friends or online our true colors shine. It is even deeper and darker within our own minds. There are some things we could never share with others and probably for good reasons.

A newborn. Shortly after birth, learning begins, judgements are then based upon this learning. To reflect an open mind upon the adult world you would have to dismiss all learning and gain experience from the moment. This of course is an impossibility in the fullest extent.

an open mind is a mind that isn't afraid to be totally wrong and learn from everything and everyone. To realize that to have preconceived notions is a human trait but learning to drop them anyway. To stop nowhere in learning and growing(IE dropping beliefs even if it's painful).

An open mind means that you may have preconceived notions but you approach new ideas and thoughts without judgment and biases.
You don't necessarily have to accept the idea, you just don't judge it negatively or scrap it without first analyzing the logic behind other's opinion.

One that has no beliefs that are not open to reasonable revision.
You wonder, perhaps, whether the belief expressed above is open to reasonable revision. It is. So the question becomes, what is reasonable revision. That's one of the questions philosophy has been struggling to answer for millennia.
